You can fly to Beijing from most major domestic cities (such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an, Guilin, Hangzhou, Kunming, Wuhan, Xiamen, Guiyang, Chongqing, Lanzhou, etc.). You may also choose high-speed rail: about 4–5 hours from Xi’an, 4.5–6 hours from Shanghai, 2.5–3 hours from Zhengzhou, 4–5 hours from Wuhan, 5–5.5 hours from Harbin, etc.
【Free Time】
After checking in, feel free to ask your guide for exclusive tips if you’d like to explore nearby. Whether you want to try local snacks on Wangfujing Street, experience the hutong vibes around Shichahai, or watch the flag-lowering ceremony at Tiananmen Square, your guide can tailor suggestions based on your interests and time.
Day 2 Beijing City Tour | Visit Tiananmen Square, walk through the Forbidden City, explore old Beijing hutongs
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and take you to Tiananmen Square—one of the largest public squares in the world and a national symbol of China. Over the decades, many significant historical events have taken place here. Walking across the square, you will reach the awe-inspiring Forbidden City, the world’s largest and best-preserved imperial palace complex, once home to 24 emperors. With 8,728 rooms, this grand palace complex is not only a masterpiece of ancient Chinese architecture but also a “city within a city,” much like the Vatican in Rome. Enter through the Meridian Gate and follow the central axis to visit the essential halls. Your guide will help you appreciate the brilliant architecture, priceless relics, and hidden imperial stories behind the red walls and golden roofs. Then walk 15 minutes to Jingshan Park and climb Wanchun Pavilion for a panoramic view of modern Beijing and the golden rooftops of the Forbidden City.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing hutong tour and experience authentic old Beijing life. Ride a traditional rickshaw through narrow alleys lined with unique shops that tell stories of the city’s long history.
Optional evening activity: Enjoy world-famous Peking Roast Duck at Quanjude.

Day 3 Beijing Great Wall Tour | Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird’s Nest & Water Cube
This morning, you will head to the Mutianyu Great Wall (73 km from downtown, 1.5–2 hours by car). With a history of over 2,000 years, the Great Wall stretches across northern China for more than 3,000 miles and is one of the most extraordinary ancient engineering marvels in the world. Mutianyu is connected to Jiankou in the west and Gubeikou in the east. It is the best-preserved and most fully restored section, known for its 23 Ming-era watchtowers and breathtaking scenery with fewer crowds. Take a cable car to Watchtower 14 and begin an unforgettable hike mainly along the western section. Surrounded by lush mountains and evergreen pines, the Wall winds majestically across the landscape. Challenge yourself by hiking up to Watchtower 20 to fulfill your Great Wall dream. Don’t forget to take plenty of amazing photos!
After this awe-inspiring visit, return to Beijing city, passing the Olympic landmarks—the Bird’s Nest (National Stadium) and Water Cube (National Aquatics Center). These two venues witnessed China’s Olympic glory in both the 2008 Summer Games and 2022 Winter Games. Stop here for photo opportunities before heading back to your hotel.

Enjoy a leisurely walk, admire the grandeur of imperial architecture, and take in views reminiscent of traditional Chinese landscape paintings.
After the visit, transfer to the train station and board a high-speed train to Xi’an (approximately 4.5–5.5 hours). Welcome to Xi’an, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties! Your guide and driver will meet you at the station and escort you to your hotel.

Day 5 Xi'an City Tour | Terracotta Warriors, City Wall, Muslim Quarter
After breakfast, your guide and driver will transfer you about 40 km (1 hour) to visit one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world—the Terracotta Warriors Museum. Commissioned by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, this underground army was built to protect him in the afterlife. About 8,000 life-size figures have been excavated. First visit the grand Pit 1, home to over 6,000 warriors and horses arranged in strict formation. The silent yet powerful figures embody both imperial majesty and the remarkable craftsmanship of the Qin Dynasty. Then visit Pit 2, which contains more than 1,000 warriors, including kneeling and standing archers, as well as impressive chariot formations. (Special note: If interested, you may try crafting your own mini terracotta warrior.)
After lunch, return to the city to visit Xi’an’s Ancient City Wall—the best-preserved ancient city wall in China. This massive defensive structure integrates the moat, arrow towers, and corner towers. It is also the perfect place for a bird’s-eye view of the city. You may stroll along the wall or choose to experience cycling (please inform your travel consultant in advance).
In the evening, visit the lively Muslim Quarter. Walk along the stone-paved street, soak in the bustling atmosphere, and sample various local snacks in this culturally rich neighborhood.

Do not miss the two most treasured items: the Da Ke Ding (a significant bronze vessel from 3,000 years ago) and the Jin Hou Su bianzhong (an ancient bell set).
Then visit the hidden gem of traditional Chinese gardens—Yu Garden. Stroll through classic Jiangnan-style architecture and admire intricate wood, stone, and brick carvings. Outside the garden, the lively Yu Garden Bazaar offers local snacks, souvenirs, and traditional handicrafts.

Continue onward to the Bund, Shanghai’s top attraction, where 52 historic buildings of various architectural styles stand majestically. Across the river, enjoy the skyline of Lujiazui with its iconic skyscrapers.
